Dr. Cohen urged increased vigilance as North Carolina enters its worst phase
NC Department of Health and Human Services, led by Mandy Cohen, MD, MPH, has updated its COVID-19 North Carolina Dashboard. Dr. Cohen, who has become a household name across the United States, is highly respected for her even-toned assessments, which always end with a dab of encouragement for the people of North Carolina.
Dr. Cohen said today, however, that the numbers were "troubling," especially for healthcare systems. Despite the rise in cases, she reminded North Carolinians that they have the power to change the course, by "Getting behind the mask" and by "knowing your 3 Ws: Wear, Wait, Wash."

North Carolina has recorded a total of 446,601 cases, with 2,735 patients presently hospitalized with COVID-19. Mecklenburg, Wake, and Guilford Counties are experiencing significant levels of viral spread.
