Re: NORTH CAROLINA HEALTH EQUITY PROJECT, INC. LOOKS TO ANOTHER REMARKABLE TERM UNDER PROGRESSIVE GOVERNOR ROY COOPER (D-NC)
The Board of Directors of North Carolina Health Equity Project, Inc., a nascent public health and biopharma not-for-profit research organization, wholeheartedly congratulate the Honorable Roy Cooper on his inauguration to a second term as Governor of the State of North Carolina.
Gov. Cooper has worked tirelessly on behalf of the people of North Carolina, continually working for equity and equal opportunities for marginalized communities. His constant leadership, in cooperation with Dr. Mandy Cohen, has saved lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, Gov. Cooper and his Cabinet have worked extensively to provide opportunities for historically underrepresented groups in industry, policy, and academia.
James Burroughs, in a private call to the Board of Directors said, "I have had the honor of meeting Gov. Cooper when I worked under the late Kay Hagan during her US senatorial campaign. Though our interaction was brief, the then Attorney General greeted our contingent with utmost hospitality and generosity, leaving an indelible impression of his goodness, compassion, and ultimate fitness to lead the people of North Carolina."
North Carolina Health Equity Project, Inc. looks forward to a fruitful term under Gov. Cooper and encourages its members, supporters, and staff to look for novel opportunities to engage with the administration around areas of health equity.
